Carcassonne is a clever tile laying game for the whole family. The game - as the name indicates - is based on the southern French city of Carcassonne located on an important trade route between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. The southern French city is famous for its unique Roman and Medieval fortifications. The players develop the area around Carcassonne and with each turn the area becomes larger as the players expand the map and add roads, fields, cities and cloisters. The players may also deploy their tokens as thieves, farmers, knights and monks to control and score points. The skill of the players to develop the area will determine who is victorious.
