ALESSI | Kettle Whistling Bird Blue | Michel Graves

Alessi Michael Graves blue whistling bird kettle

The famous Whistling Bird Kettle, bestselling Alessi product ever, was designed by the American architect Michael Graves in 1984. With a soft sound the bird-shaped whistle atop the spout lets you know when the water’s boiling. Michael Graves told the story that as a child in Indiana he used to wake up to the sound of boiling water while the rooster was crowing. That became an inspiration for the creation of the kettle. In recognition of its outstanding design this kettle is included in various collections, among them also the MoMA New York. The kettle comes with a magnetic steel bottom suitable for induction cooking. Another very prestigious designer gift from Alessi, often used as a wedding present!
