Kitchen towel 'Arnaga Coq Basque' by Jean-Vier
The Jacquard kitchen towel 'Arnaga Coq Basque' (Basque Rooster) features the rooster, called Oilar in the Basque language. The rooster is part of the Basque legend. Its call announces the flight of the 'lamina', a beautiful siren-like creature, which helps the farmers. Arnaga (the name of the towel collection), is the name of the villa built in the Basque country by Edmond Rostand, the author of Cyrano de Bergerac. Surrounded by beautiful French gardens it houses today a museum which carries his name.
Tradition and 'art de vivre' go hand in hand in the French Basque country. Here is the home of Creations Jean-Vier, the manufacturers of the famous cotton linen. The extremely high-quality cotton thread produces a fabric which is very absorbent and soft, but nevertheless hardwearing. The very precise and tight weaving process at Creations Jean-Vier produces fine precision motifs in a great variety of designs, minimises the risk of shrinkage and guarantees colours that stay vibrant. The kitchen towel is woven using 100% natural cotton and with its extra large size of 55 x 88 cm it can also be used as a table runner, a small tablecloth or an attractive wall decoration. It has undergone a specific treatment called finishing, which consists of a prewash and a drying and guarantees a remarkable quality and longevity. It won't shrink nor fade, is highly stain resistant and will stand up to years of use and washing.
