Hand-carved Kookaburra DecoBird by Wildlife Garden

With their characteristic laughing call, kookaburras are probably the best-known birds of Australia and New Guinea. They are the largest member of the kingfisher family. They stay together for life and live in pairs or small family groups. The laughing kookaburra often laughs at dawn and is known as the "Bushman's alarm clock". The word kookaburra comes from the Wiradjuri language, "guuguubarra", which sounds similar to the unique song of this Australian bird. The kookaburra has dark eye stripes, blue spots on the wings and a long beak that is black on top and light-coloured on the underside.
The animal is carefully and intricately hand-carved from lime wood and painted with water-based acrylic paint.
Each bird sculpture is approx. 22 cm high, varies slightly and is therefore unique.
A great gift idea for any occasion that brings a piece of wildlife into your home!

It's so cool! Almost life size, and very well made. Looks great and stylish. I purchased for my mom as a gift, she loves kookaburra!

Fantastic! It was for a good friend who had just lost her father and a kookaburra used to up near her as if it was her father saying "Don't worry love I'm still around".
